The food of Arunachal Pradesh is not too spicy, in fact some may even find it a bit too bland. Bamboo shoots and herbs found in the region are used in seasoning the dishes. People are generally non-vegetarian. Pork is a major delicacy in this region. Jadoh is a delicacy made of rice and pork, and is a great favorite with the locals. The local drink made from rice or millet is very popular with locals. It is called Apong. Corn, leafy vegetables, fish, meat and eggs form a major portion of their diets. Chinese food is also available here, and is a great favorite with tourists. The Tibetan influence can also be detected in the culinary culture of Arunachal Pradesh.
