Any Indian festival is accompanied by dance and music. The festivals of Arunachal Pradesh are not an exception to this rule. Apart from the Statehood Day (Arunachal Pradesh was formed from the state of Assam), festivals like Sangken, Losar, Reh, and Mopin are, also, celebrated.
There are multiple styles of dance and music in Arunachal Pradesh. Dances are usually group dances. There are a number of dance forms to be found in the state. The local groups of the Adis, the Wanchos, the Noctes, the Nishis, and the Tagins, practice their unique dance forms . The colorful costumes make these dances a delight to watch. The folk music of Arunachal Pradesh has an enchanting quality, and often accompanies these traditional dances. Traditional flutes, cymbals and drums serve as accompaniments. The Aji Lhamu dance, Lion and Peacock dance, and the Yak dance of Arunachal Pradesh are popular tourist attractions.
