Arunachal Pradesh is located in the north eastern part of India. With the passage of time, people of different origins have made Arunachal Pradesh their home. There a number of different tribes in the state, and each tribe has its specific festival.

The Losar festival marks the new year festivities of the Monpa tribe. The Monpas are Buddhists, and Buddhist scriptures are read during the five days of this new year festival. The Mol festival is celebrated by the Tangsa tribe to mark the beginning of their new year. The Tamladu festival is celebrated by the Digaru Mishis tribe. This festival is observed to pray to the gods for the well being of human beings, animals and crops.
