Components of Indian Culture

A dazzling mosaic of diverse faiths, customs, languages, literatures and cultures, India is a charming land of diversity. But an underlying unity binding the different hues of culture of India together bestows the diversity with a harmony of unity. Components of Indian culture are diverse in contour, length and breadth but the unity rephrase then in one single entity reflecting different hues.

The components of Indian culture are varied and unique. The culture of India is the perfect blend of traditional legacies and novel ideas and components. The tradition and history of India has been influenced by multicultural influences for long. Indian music is a vast domain.
The classical music of India is divided mainly between Carnatic tradition of South India and Hindustani tradition of North India. Apart from classical music there are folk music in India like the Baul music of India, Rajasthani folk music and more. The filmi music in India today is a large industry.

Indian dance is a rich domain with classical and folk dance forms speaking of the rich culture of the places of their emanation. There are eight dance forms, which are accorded the status of classical dance by the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama. The eight dance forms are Mohiniattyam of Kerala, Kathakali of Kerala, Bharatnatyam of Tamil Nadu, Sattriya of Assam, Odissi of Orissa, Manipuri of Manipur and Kuchipudi of Andhra Pradesh.

Architecture and sculpture in India is a rich domain. From the erotic carvings of Khajuraho to the magnificient architecture of the Mughals, Indian architecture still today evokes wonder. The Rajasthani architecture is exquisite and grand examples of the architectural prowess of the Rajputs. The Taj Mahal, in India is an architecture, which still today inspires awe among the onlookers with its majestic look and feel. The vernacular architecture in India is also varied and rich.
The literature in India is a long journey from the Vedic literature to the post modern writings and has multiple branches. All the branches are enriching.
