Culinary Culture of Goa

Goa has always been the hub for tourists, be it domestic or international. The magnificent culinary dishes range from sea foods to vegetarian delicacies. Almost all the eateries in Goa serve mouth-watering sea food delicacies. These dishes comprise of mainly fries, pickles, curries, and soups which are prepared from lobsters, lady fishes, prawns, oysters, crabs, mussels and so forth. Step inside any of the restaurants and relish the other indigenous delicacies of Goa namely the spicy sorpotel, xacuti, Goan fish curry, pork vindaloo and so forth. Though almost all these dishes go very well with rice; however, rice with fish curry is the best combination.
The varied types of fish dishes of Goa are lip smacking and are worth tasting by one and all. Excellently usage of spices, coconut, chili peppers, vinegar and coconut oil in the Goan delicacies make the cuisines stand out. ‘Khatkahte’ which comprises coconut, five different types of vegetables and spices of Goa and ‘Bebinca’, sweet dish made of egg are the two most well known dishes of Goa. When it comes to beverages Goa retains its uniqueness. Go for coconut feni or cashew feni, you will find the authentic flavor of Goa in both.
