The architecture and sculpture of Rajasthan are greatly influenced by the Mughals, Persian and European style. The art and sculpture of Rajasthan has contribute greatly to the culture of Rajasthan and the country as well. Rajasthan was well known for its penchant for art, architecture and sculpture since the time it was being ruled. The Mughals brought about a distinct change in the style of architecture and sculpture. With the coming of the Europeans there was a unique blend of all the artistic styles that gave rise to fantastic monuments and work of art. The architecture and sculpture of Rajasthan has grown in fame. Rajasthan is visited by tourists from all over the world to experience the glory and grandeur.
The state has a huge in flow of tourist round the year and the rush increases especially during the winters when the desert is comparatively hospitable.The sculpture of Rajasthan is made on marble and stone mostly. The marble and stone sculptures are available in various sizes. The theme are mostly the daily life, religious themes or intricate patterns and designs. The marble and stone are carefully chiseled by master craftsman with wonderful designs. Most of the sculptures are made by hand and tools that are ancient. Machines are used too, to carve out designs but the one made by hands are most in demand. The sculpture takes a long time to be made by hand as the detailing are time consuming. The architecture and sculpture of Rajasthan has placed the country in the international market of art.
The architecture of Rajasthan attracts maximum number of tourists. There are numerous forts, palaces, mosques, temples and other structures that were made many years ago and are of historical importance. These structures and monuments are the preservers of history. They give us a glimpse of the past glory and grandeur. The monuments were built by artisans at the behest of rulers. They lead a lavish life that is well understood from the structures. Cities like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer have palaces and forts that are fine examples of the architecture and sculpture of Rajasthan. Most of the palaces and forts are being well preserved in order to preserve history. The havelis at Jaisalmer, Hawa Mahal, Chittorgarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan and the Lake Palace have fascinated all since the time they were made.
